It's was FREE

movie photoYou were looking for a new way to beat the summer heat and simultaneously satisfy your intellectual curiosity. LifeLong Learning at PebbleCreek announced its first TED Talk Extravaganza, held on Thursday, June 27, 2019, in the Renaissance Theater from 10 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. Admission for this event was free.

For residents unfamiliar with TED Talks, its first conference was held in 1984 and it was designed as a convergence among the fields of Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED). Six years later, organizers adopted the mission of “ideas worth spreading” and the TED phenomenon became an annual event in Monterey, California. Today, there are more than 3,000 TED Talks and the roster of presenters has broadened considerably to include business and religious leaders, musicians, philanthropists, philosophers, scientists and many others. On June 27 there were intriguing topics presented each hour (with a lunch break). Some folks came for an hour and some saw all five+ hours!

Following excellent feedback, many requests and for all those who were not able to attend the first showing, we are repeating the same program in January, 2020 for our snowbirds and renters. Put January XXX on your calendars and watch for additional information.

The schedule for the day is:
