Ballet Master Teaching at PebbleCreek

joseph cavanaugh 2013Without a doubt, ballet is one of our most treasured art forms. The combination of compelling stories told through the fluid movements of graceful dancers has entertained audiences for well over 400 years.

Whether you’re a ballet enthusiast who’s been mesmerized by performances of The Nutcracker or someone who’s simply been intrigued by this exquisite form of artistic expression, you won’t want to miss this class, particularly if you are going on the LLL trip to see Cinderella.

Meet one of Ballet Arizona’s professional dancers to hear firsthand about the grueling work, the extreme hardship, as well as the exuberant joy of bringing ballet to life. He will talk about ballet in general as well as about Cinderella.

Our teacher, Joseph Cavanaugh, graduated with honors from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional Division and joined Ballet Arizona in 2001. Among his many accomplishments, Cavanaugh has danced soloist and principal roles in Swan Lake, Giselle, and Twyla Tharp’s The Golden Section. In addition to serving as Ballet Master, Cavanaugh manages education and community outreach programs for Ballet Arizona.
