What are “Blue Zones?" A Vegas show? Boarding group of an airline? Blue Zones are regions of the world where there are the healthiest and longest-lived people. Fortunately for us, we live in a 55+ community where we have many amenities and activities that help to keep us sharp both mentally and physically. Researchers have identified key lifestyle habits that impact quality of life as we move towards that magic number “100." Alex Stark, leading expert in exercise and independent aging will explore and share those habits and how slight changes in our behaviors can help to ensure we age the best we can. Alex Stark is the Digital Solution Analyst for Sun Health and a leading expert in exercise and independent aging. He received his master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from Arizona State University where he did research on exercise and independent living. He also has his bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Wellness with a minor in human nutrition. Before joining Sun Health, he taught exercise prescription at ASU and worked as a personal trainer helping those with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, joint replacements, fibromyalgia, muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy and other at-risk populations.
