Each year, LifeLong Learning at PebbleCreek presents several special programs for the community, programs that are educational but do not neatly fall into a category of trips, classes or lectures. Some are free, while others have fees to cover the costs. In the past, we joined with local libraries to sponsor the BIG READ to encourage reading, held a special program to help people prepare for the possibility of needing to call 911, presented the award-winning film, "Girl Rising" and hosted the Phoenix Museum's fashions of "Downton Abbey." We have also scheduled published authors, and four years ago, we partnered with the Activities Office to bring the Cinema Society to PebbleCreek.

Please note: This year registration for these events will not open until one month before the event. Watch the LLL e-newsletter for more information. (You can sign-up here.

In June we started our first year-round program, PC Reads, a monthly drop-in book group, held on the first Thursday of every month in the LLL Center and featuring a book review and discussion.  (Max - 24) See the PC Reads page for details.

Last year we introduced the successful Sunday Series, three afternoons from 2-3:30 p.m. in the Chianti Room. We serve light refreshments and these programs both educate and entertain, but are not suited to a smaller or larger venue. Learn more about what's planned by clicking on these dates: Jan. 28Feb. 25 and March 25Invite your friends and neighbors to share these unique afternoons with you. (Max - 100)

Three years ago we introduced TED Talks, small discussion groups focused on a wide range of topics, prompted by a video from TED. After a successful first year, we expanded to six monthly sessions and this year we will meet the second Thursday of the month,  2-4:00 p.m. in the Eagle's Nest Palm Room, beginning in November. These sessions are free, but pre-registration is required and we limit the group to 32 people. Registration opens one month before the event.

You must pre-register for all of these programs They all have a maximum attendance based on the program and to enhance the experience for everyone.
