The LLL Guitar Group is the newest addition to the programs offered by LifeLong Learning and also its second year-round program.
Formerly known as the Guitar Club, the Guitar Group, headed by Jim Sykes, is a group of musicians who provide educational opportunities to learn more about the history of guitar music, the various musical genres in which guitars play different roles, and opportunities to hear how guitars are used to create music.
The Guitar Group meets in the LLL Center from 3-5 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month. While the Guitar Group will not be offering beginner lessons, if you have some skill in guitar and are interested in joining the group, please come to one of the sessions and talk with Jim.
The Guitar Group of LifeLong Learning will be presenting educational programs from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. in the Lifelong Learning Center. While these programs are free, registration is required as space is limited.
The group will be expanding its educational outreach by facilitating musical and learning opportunities, such as “Storytelling Songs” and specially scheduled guitar and music education sessions.
