Bringing TED to PebbleCreek
Have you ever stumbled across a TED Talk on You Tube or listened to one on NPR? If so, you already know that the subjects can be serious or quirky, deeply emotional or highly intellectual. And you also know that no matter the subject, the talk is bound to get you thinking and eager to talk with someone about it.
After 2015's introduction of this LLL program, we're continuing with four sessions during 2017 - 2018. TED Talks always begin with viewing a TED Talk that will leave you just itching to talk.
What is TED Talks? A two-hour, small-group discussion about topics presented in two or three TED videos. The videos are selected from the thousands that are available online at www.ted.com/talks. We use the Perspectives, Opinions and Viewpoints (POV) method to create a respectful and introspective environment.
We find videos on a wide variety of topics that spark conversation. To get a sense of the videos shown in previous seasons, see previous seasons' TED Talks.
Sessions are scheduled monthly on the second Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in the Eagle's Nest Palm Room.
There is no charge for the session, but advance registration is required. Sign up for one at a time, one month at a time to assure your attendance.
LOCATION: Palm Room
Registration opens ONE MONTH before the session.
