American Debut of Acclaimed Violinist

PhoenixSym Carousel BrahmsSchumannInternationally acclaimed violinist, Friederike Starkloff, will make her American debut at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, in Phoenix—and you can be there with LifeLong Learning to hear her perform. The young German violinist, who has won numerous awards in Europe, has been called “capricious, feisty and seductive.” In the concert, she will perform the formidable Braham’s violin concerto.

This year’s trip to the symphony begins with a pre-concert talk with the conductor and guest musician. Then, as the orchestra gets ready for the concert of music by Brahams and Schumann, enjoy a cup of coffee in the lobby, and take a few moments to visit the symphony’s gift shop.

The Phoenix Symphony is celebrating its 70th anniversary this season. It has come a long way since the 1947-1948 season, which consisted of four concerts in the Phoenix Union High School gymnasium.

After the concert, discuss the concert over lunch at Seasons 52, before returning to PebbleCreek.
