Discuss U.S. foreign policy and global issues

Registration opens mid-October

Once again, LifeLong Learning is proud to offer America's largest discussion program on world affairs: Great Decisions, an eight-week curriculum created by the Foreign Policy Association. The mission of the Foreign Policy Association today, as it has been for over 100 years, is to serve as a catalyst for developing awareness, understanding, and informed opinion on U.S. foreign policy and global issues.

The program involves reading the Great Decisions briefing book, watching a DVD about the topic and discussing the issues in a small group with other PebbleCreek residents. The program provides background information and policy options, while avoiding partisan politics. As always, the topics are timely and will generate lively discussion.

Topics discussed in 2022:

Changing Demographics

Outer Space

Climate Change

Myanmar and ASEAN

The Quad Alliance

Industrial Policy

Drug Policy in Latin America

Biden’s Agenda

Five classes are offered in 2023 and you select the one that best meets your schedule. Each class meets once a week for 8 weeks. Registration will open mid-October. A Great Decisions 2023 book is required. You may purchase the book at the time that you register or purchase an e-book through Apple books, Kindle and Nook. Note: The e-book price will probably be $25-$28 but the e-book does not include pictures and maps.
