Craig Hauger color photoYou may have noticed that a new form of payment is becoming more noticed, and available: cryptocurrency. You might have heard about Bitcoin, and Blockchain technology, and wondered, “What are they talking about?”

What is it? A cryptocurrency is a digital or virtual currency that is secured by cryptography, which makes it nearly impossible to counterfeit or double-spend. It is a form of digital asset based on a network that is distributed across a large number of computers. This decentralized structure allows them to exist outside the control of governments and central authorities. However, this currency format may be hard for people to understand.

On Thursday, Jan. 26, 1:00 p.m.Craig Hauger will discuss how cryptocurrency is designed, who should use it, how it works, common misconceptions about it, major risks involved, and the current state of cryptocurrency.  Craig has worked in the finance industry for 28 years.
