Are you a history buff who relishes learning about events, consequences, relationships and historical figures among cultures? Dick Falor is passionate about history and is eager to share his unique and knowledgeable perspectives with you through this four-session course.
Falor will introduce the conflicts between Native Americans and whites, and how their perceptions of each other contributed to those conflicts throughout history. He will then focus on conflicts in the northern plains, including Red Cloud's war, the Fetterman fight, Little Big Horn and Wounded Knee. Discussions will focus on the aftermath of those conflicts up to the present time, as well as the major figures involved in them, including Red Cloud, Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer and others of interest.
Falor holds a bachelor's degree in social science and a master's in history. A former Air Force officer and public school teacher, he has a lifelong fascination with history and has taught several LLL classes.
