Join us on Wednesday, April 9, 1 p.m. when the Mutts on a Mission team speaks to us about their mission and results. This is an all volunteer therapy dog group that concentrates its efforts in the West Valley.
You will learn about the important work of therapy dogs active in hospitals, schools and other organizations. Learn how dogs are selected and trained to help people feel less stressed and more connected to their surroundings.
Hear how Mutts on a Mission trains volunteers and pets for a special school program called R.E.A.D. (Reading Education Assistance Dogs.) This effort allows students struggling to read with trained dogs that can advance their reading skills tremendously.
Attend this class to learn more from this organization that welcomes new members to assist in much needed community programs. You get to meet a few dogs too!
