Do you have a lot of questions regarding the upstream oil and natural gas business? On Monday, Feb. 3, 10 a.m., Dan Harris, a retired petroleum engineer, will provide an easy-to-understand overview of the Upstream Oil and Gas Industry. Topics to be discussed include: drilling and completing wells; hydraulic fracturing (also known as fracing); reservoir rock and fluid properties; bringing oil and natural gas from underground to the surface; fun facts you didn’t know about the oil industry; and much more. The talk promises to be very entertaining and informative, and a lot of time will be allocated to answering your questions!
Originally from College Station, Texas, Dan Harris and his wife Jean moved to PebbleCreek in August 2020 after retiring as a Principal Reservoir Engineer for a major oil and gas company. Dan holds BS and MS degrees in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University. During his 32-year career, Dan worked on key assets and projects with increasing technical responsibilities while living in Houston, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bakersfield CA, San Ramon CA, Indonesia, Louisiana, and China.
Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. in the lobby of the Renaissance Theater and are $5 at the door. No registration is required.
The theater is equipped with a hearing loop system which is a special type of sound system for people who use hearing aids. The loop system provides a magnetic wireless signal that is picked up by a hearing aid when it is set to the T-setting (telecoil). Many hearing aids are equipped with telecoil technology.
